Who We Are

Founded by United States disability rights advocate, Lilly Grossman, Beyond The Box Advocacy was built to challenge disability systems that limit people with disabilities from fully thriving and succeeding. We work with people and organizations to redesign how disability support works in practice and policy.

What We Do

Beyond The Box Advocacy provides support on two levels by offering direct help within the current system and strategic consulting for organizations working to improve it.

For individuals and families

We help people navigate the services they rely on now, including:

  • benefits strategy and continuity of care

  • service coordination and access to supports

  • decision-making and planning for independence

For organizations and systems

We advise groups working to make disability systems more just and accessible through:

  • policy and program consulting

  • disability inclusion and systems training

  • communication and advisory support

Who We Serve

We work with anyone affected by, navigating, or working to change the disability system, including individuals, families, caregivers, advocates, nonprofits, educators, healthcare providers, and policy partners.

If you are impacted by disability or engaged in disability work, you have a place here.

Why This Matters

Americans with disabilities lose services simply for crossing a geographic line. A move for family, safety, or opportunity can mean losing the care that makes daily life possible. This is enforced immobility and it is built into policy. When support is tied to geography instead of the person, independence is conditional.
