Mission and Purpose

Mission

Beyond The Box Advocacy works to improve disability policies and systems so people with disabilities have greater freedom to make decisions about their lives. We advance this mission through policy research, direct advocacy, public engagement, and systems strategy.

Purpose

Our purpose is to connect the details of disability policy to the lives people want to lead. We identify patterns in how policies operate, develop practical solutions, and bring those ideas into research, advocacy, and public conversations.

Vision

We envision a future where disability supports make it possible for people to pursue education, employment, relationships, financial security, community participation, mobility, and other goals throughout their lives.

Our North Star: The Disabled Dream

The Disabled Dream describes the future we are working toward. It is the freedom for people with disabilities to pursue the lives they want with policies and supports that make everyday choices possible.
